Consciousness-Based Education in Tanzania
Most education emphasizes what students study, without developing the qualities students need not only for success in school, but for success in life: alertness, intelligence, creative thinking, confidence, inner calm, motivation, integrity, and happiness. These qualities are naturally developed by the Transcendental Meditation program, as the students experience the inner field of their own total potential, and start to live it more and more in daily life.
The Transcendental Meditation (TM) program: Practiced a few minutes twice daily in a school, TM helps students to fully develop their mental abilities and reduce stress; they have more positive relationships with others and a greater sense of well-being. As they regularly practice Transcendental Meditation and unfold more of their inner potential, students enjoy more success and see more possibilities for themselves. Requires no beliefs or change in lifestyle: The Transcendental Meditation program is a simple, natural technique you practice sitting comfortably with the eyes closed. Through this practice, the mind naturally settles down to its quietest state—the state of its full potential, while the body gains a unique state of deep rest, which dissolves stress and fatigue. It is easily learned by both adults and children, starting at the age of 10. It requires no effort or concentration. It requires no beliefs or change in lifestyle. More than five million people of all cultures, religions, and educational backgrounds throughout the world have learned Transcendental Meditation over the past 50 years.
